Pre-shipping inspection: Guide to inspecting your vehicle before shipping
When it comes to shipping your vehicle, you need to be well prepared for it. It is not as simple as calling up a vehicle shipping company and telling them Please ship my vehicle. One needs to be vigilant if they don’t want to be ripped-off. Before you go ahead and hand those keys over to the shipping company, you’ll need to conduct a pre-shipping inspection yourself.
Before your vehicle is ready for shipping, the first thing you need to make sure is that your vehicle’s fuel level is quarter full. This is necessary to ensure that there is enough fuel for the vehicle to be moved around if needed, and safe enough, so that your vehicle won’t cause a huge explosion in case of a fire.
Secondly, make sure that the battery on your vehicle is in good condition, one should be able to start the car without hassle. Also check the inside of your vehicle for any valuables, and important documents, such as insurance cards, vehicle registration, vehicle title etc. Leaving these valuables behind is a big mistake, as most shipping companies will not take liability for them. Once you’ve done your part, you can sit back and relax, and be assured that you’ve done your part.
